Every one who use internet may be aware of .com , .gov , .net , .edu , etc . Some of you and many of them would have thought what is the reason behind having a set or few of suffixes to web address , even I had a thought about it . Some may leave it by thinking its just a rule.
From the introduction of .com(dotcom) in the internet , that is for the past 26 years nothing have been differed . But now the world will be witnessing a huge MANIAC . And even this event will be embarked in world history as a special one . You may ask what such thing is going to happen . Let me start from the scarp . The Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) after in its recent meeting in Singapore have proposed that a new domain name will be available . Nothing great but simple (ie) .anything websites instead of having some genric top domains like .com , .edu , etc .
Knowing this first I thought of creating a .kaushikvenu or something like that and this may be a similar thought for every bloggers , web developers ,owners , corporates ,organisations , etc . Every one may think of creating funny , tempting , new dotcom's . On one side it may be a fun on a another hand I think some may find difficult exploit this change , whatever be everything will be googled and found out . I thought for a second what kind of changes the GOOGLE , YAHOO , FACEBOOK ,etc going to bring .google , .yahoo something like that . And I think corporates , it is zone where the maximum exploitation will take place . However this is also be a experience any funny thing . For the moment everyone who reads this may be cool and pleasant .
But ICANN is taking it as very seriously , a staggering sum of $185,000 ( roughly 
83,25,000 ) has to paid by a firm just for applying itself . And the applications will be accepted from January 12 ,2012 for the new suffixes . The news is that the fee may leap more than that and serous of criteria have to be meet before an authoritative registration . It will be a cumbersome task . There is also a $25,000
